E-bike rental – Maine-et-Loire

The département splits into two clear types of riding. Along the Loire and its tributaries — the Maine, the Mayenne, the Authion — the terrain is largely flat, on quiet roads and traffic-free voies vertes. La Loire à Vélo (EuroVelo 6), the signed route that runs through Maine-et-Loire from Montsoreau westward to Saint-Florent-le-Vieil and beyond, is the backbone of this: mostly smooth tarmac, well waymarked in both directions, and easy to pick up and put down in sections.

Move away from the river and the character changes. The Layon and Aubance valleys carry you through Anjou's wine country on rolling roads with real elevation — nothing alpine, but enough to make a plain bike hard work and an e-bike genuinely useful. La Vélo Francette, which crosses the département north to south between the Mayenne valley and Saumur, offers a quieter, more rural alternative to the Loire corridor. The Vallée du Loir à Vélo traces the Loir river through the Baugeois, further from the Loire and noticeably less busy.
